Education Grants

Up to three annual scholarships are awarded to local high school seniors.  See our Scholarship pages for more information.  You can click here for a list of past recipients.

2017

  • Eastman Community Association Lakes and Streams Committee. A grant of $832 was awarded to create Little Free Libraries in three locations in Grantham: in Brookside Park, at the Rum Brook play area and by the boat ramp behind South Cove in Eastman. The project is a partnership with the Dunbar Free Library and the Grantham Conservation Commission, with a goal of educating the public about the natural environment by providing free access to books, periodicals, etc. Youth Conservation Corps students design, build, install and manage the Little Free Libraries.
  • Grantham Village School, Destination Imagination Project. A grant of $250 was awarded to defray costs for a four-member Destination Imagination Team and two adult advisors to participate in the DI Global Finals Tournament in Knoxville, TN

2016

  • Grantham Village School, Destination Imagination Project. A grant of $500 was awarded to defray costs for the 5th grade Destination Imagination Team and two adult advisors to participate in the DI Global Finals Tournament in Knoxville, TN
  • Town of Grantham Pollinator Committee. A grant of $670 was awarded to educate adults and children in the Grantham community through workshops and presentations about the loss of pollinators, especially bees and butterflies, and promote practices to help rebuild pollinator populations. The Pollinator Committee is a joint initiative including Sustainable Eastman, Grantham Village School, Grantham Historical Society, Dunbar Library, Grantham Selectmen, Grantham Garden Club and Grantham Conservation Commission.

2015

  • Grantham Village School, Destination Imagination Project. A grant of $500 was awarded to defray costs for the 5th grade Destination Imagination Team and two adult advisors to participate in the DI Global Finals Tournament in Knoxville, TN.

2014

  • Grantham Village School, Destination Imagination Project. A grant of $1,000 was awarded to defray costs for the Destination Imagination Team to participate in the New Hampshire Incredible Creativity Connection (NHICC).

2010

  • Grantham Parent Teacher Group, Grantham Village School. A grant of $835 was awarded to produce an inter-generational art project for the purpose of bringing together young people of Grantham Village School with adults in the community to create wall murals.
  • Grantham Village School, Third and Fourth Grade Classes. A grant of $900 was awarded for participation in a Water Ecology Education Project sponsored by the Fells.

2006

Davis instruments vantage pro weather station
  • Grantham Village School Environmental Learning for the Future (ELF) program. A grant of $500 was awarded to support the purchase of a weather station.
